Gemma Doyle Trilogy
This project is the Gemma Doyle Trilogy, set in the Victorian era. Gemma Doyle discovers secrets and her mother's past in her residence, along with her three friends.
My design for the Rebel Angels book cover has the snake scales behind a dimmed candle depict a chapter where one of the four women betrays her friends and becomes a prisoner in the Realm. In Sweet Far Thing, set during the winter holidays, the climax sees the four women confronting dangerous obstacles as the Realm grows colder.
The design integrates symbolic imagery to reflect key themes:
Mirror: Represents the portal between reality and the Realm.
Wire Fence: Symbolizes barriers and the characters’ struggles.
Mist: Evokes the mysterious and elusive nature of the Realm.
Candle: Reflects the evolving friendships and conflicts among the characters.
