A Pause for Thought

A Pause for Thought Between Two Cups
I created this poster after writing a letter to my 20-year-old self in 2016.
(A letter about my career journey is on my LinkedIn post.)
The pink drink represents my 20-year-old self — a college student starting her first internship while navigating excitement, uncertainty, and ups and downs.
The iced Dubai chocolate mocha represents me now — a 30-year-old freelance graphic designer who is still choosing not to give up on a career in graphic design.
Over the last two years of my twenties, every time I sit in a coffee shop, I notice people chatting or working on their laptops — their minds filled with plans, memories, and both personal and professional thoughts. It made me wonder: when was the last time we sat quietly with our past selves and reflected on how we arrived here after five or ten years of change?
This piece is an invitation to pause — to sit with the person you used to be, to honor the journey, and to acknowledge how much you’ve grown. If you have a tranquil moment with your past self, pat yourself on the back and say:
"Everything will be alright. You’ve made it through more than you realize."
